Park Slope in Brooklyn seems nice but a little too young. How would a single, middle-aged woman do in that area. I am a young but not too young middle-aged woman.

The 5th ave side of park slope skews young.. but the middle of the slope, 7th, 8th ave's is older.
I have a number of good friends in that side of the slope and they are all in their 40s/50s.

There's LOTS of folks, such as yourself, living in Park Slope proper. That's generally the North/Upper slope, where people our age spend most evenings inside their brownstones with their children. You also won't normally find them being drunk and loud sloshing up and down 5th Ave.

You're mostly found in the shops on 7th Ave during the day, and in the restaurants during the weekend evenings. By the time night falls, its time to get the kids home and put to bed.

When I think of Park Slope, I think age 30ish couples/young kids. To what extent are childless, middle-aged singles -- empty nesters and never marrieds represented? I think the prices in PS skew it towards needing two incomes. Am I wrong?
