I was asked to submit documents! Wondering if anyone has had any luck on submitting documents/what the process has been like for you? I moved last year so I have a couple different sources for rent payments. Also, I recently got a new job. Will they honor my salary from when I applied to the apartment or will it be my current salary?
They will take your last 6 paystubs as a projection of your annual income. Having different sources of rent payment shouldn't be an issue, as long as it was all paid. What's your log?
Hi, did you submit documents yet. If so, when and did they contact you back yet?
If you look at the studios in this building they're pretty large. I would take it. I came up in a lottery for another building with many more units where I was eligible for both studio and 1 bedroom. I was offered a studio (these were smaller and in a less desirable neighborhood and building), I declined and decided to wait for a 1 bedroom. The next time I was contacted was 1 year later for a 2 bedroom, which I was not eligible for, and then another 2 years later for another studio though at this point my income changed and I was no longer eligible based on that.
I'm sure each lottery is a bit different though, but hope this helps.
Based on you’re experience, If you’re contacted for a unit and it turns out to be a studio typically how long do you guys think it will take to be pulled off the waiting list for a 1bedroom ? Do people usually leave after a few weeks or so ? This is my first time going through the process and I didn’t really want a studio but I’m going to have to take it. I was looking at a forum for that project and most of the people are stating that they’re not going to accept it because they’re taking a bunch of supportive housing folks and it will be similar to a shelter (The Kira Apartments). Any information that can be provided will be extremely helpful!

Hi - Thank you so much for this information! I’m definitely going to take it, but I haven’t been seen what the studio looks like. Did you see it online or in person?

I haven't seen it in person but look up the building on streeteasy and you can see the apartment layouts for the studios. Also someone posted earlier in this thread some youtube videos of some units in the building. You can either go back and look for those posts or just search 111 Varick directly in Youtube. Anyway - congratulations!
Does anyone know how long it takes once you submit documents and your application is "under review" to hear back? Or what are the next steps? Getting anxious.
