Not really. Just wanted to explain my cynical attitude.
I think you need to spend more time relaxing in the higher altitudes where you can refresh your senses and clear your sinuses.
Ever done much camping out? Several summers, when the temps even in Ruidoso got into the 100F range, I drove over to Cloudcroft to spend the night in the woods along the Sunspot road. Very refreshing!

That's what Durango was for.....and will be off and on.
I wish I did enjoy camping out--it really is a cheap way to go, but not for me. I've camped out in Big Bend and a few other places.
Cathy - Thanks for the warning. I will keep it in mind when we buy a place.
LOL!! You're welcome. So what have you narrowed it down to now?
Not everybody here has had that run of irritating problems--I'm just glad that everything got taken care of after all of the aggravation.
All of that ranges from the first 6 months (while my house was still under the one-year warranty) to just a few weeks ago.
Have I told you how some FedEx delivery people out here can't read street signs?
I ordered some larger items (tomato carts) from Gardener's Supply the first summer I was here. One nice guy from one street over drives up and asks me if I am looking for an order.
The idiot had delivered them to his house. They got the number correct, but the street name wrong. He had just shoved 6 heavy boxes up against the man's front door, so that he couldn't even get in his house!
So I had to load all of that in my car in two trips. I did get my shipping refunded for the error and my trouble!

But but but...Cloudcroft is only a half hour drive. And you needn't camp out. Just pack a lunch and enjoy a walk in the woods. Or even better, lunch at Rebecca's at The Lodge.

That would be very nice, too!! I love both CC and Ruidoso....
jaxart: I didn't realize it ever got up to 100 F in Ruidoso. Yikes!
Yep. Every once in a while in June it gets that hot for about an hour in the afternoon. But during those few days in June, when you have no air conditioning and are used to much milder temps, it's hard to sleep in a house that heated up during the day.
I've learned a trick or two that has made it easier since I learned them - like opening the house wide at night and closing it up before the temps rise in the morning hours, and keeping it closed until after nightfall. It's what the "old timers" used to do in days before air conditioning - or so I'm told...

Tourism, retirement and trade are the other major components of Silver City's economy. In 2006, an average home sold for about $160,000 for a three-bedroom, 1,500-square-foot (140 m2) house.
The mine was sold to Freeport-McMoRan in 2007, and the layoffs started in 2009. It was BIG news for the Silver City area.
