I wanted to echo the Thanks to Judy. Especially for your patience. I am reading about many worried about our loved ones and friends, and you are giving us that thread of a lifeline we need.

Bill and Carol if you read this, know that we are in prayer and know that we love you both. I know everyone is doing what they have to but I worry about fatigue for those who are working around the clock. Be Carefull please Bill and all the others!

Hi everybody.
We got home about an hour ago. Haven't heard anything more about the fire other than what you all are saying. Charlie had to go to a meeting.
Nan, Whiskey is the white/yellow looking lab mix.
He spent the night last night (we were told) at the lodge/firestation area and he was home when we got here. He knows his way around this mountain but does not like people or cars.
Planes still flying around but there's not near the smoke there was yesterday.
My neighbor across the road just told me that we are still in danger.
I'll head to the firestation again later. We stopped there before we came home and they seem to have everything so much in control, I'm amazed at the way people are working together to help others. Coming from a city, I never saw much of that.
I'm also happy to see that so many 'newbies' have posted.

Song, I'm glad Whiskey is fine.
Yes - people here really band together and pitch in wherever it is needed. Does my heart good

The fire crews are just awesome. They started arriving yesterday and they kept coming in. Heavy equipment right behind them. From all over! You can see several trucks (Hot Shots) in my pictures at the web page posted above, but not near all of them. I was really impressed at the response.

Time for my siesta. Hopefully I will not be woken (is that a word?) up like I was yesterday by sirens!

Hey Cheryl:

Very glad that Whiskey was there waiting for you - unharmed - & that apparently reinforcement are there. Hopefully - they will be able to get it contained & OUT before anyone else suffers a major loss!

Default Exact location of fire

Have a place on calcite, wondering how close, exactly it is to the area around us. How is the wind at this time, have heard all different speeds and directions. Is anyone allowed in? Any information will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for keeping everyone updated! It's hard to just sit here and not jump in my truck and head down there. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to get in if I tried. I don't have TV here at home, so I am having to keep this web site up..and check for new "news"...Hopefully the wind wont be to terribly bad up there...I still have everyone in my thoughts and prayers...Be safe out there!

Donna

You might want to try and call Roberts Realty. My mom is the Broker...her name is Ruby Roberts. She might can tell you a little more about where the fire is and which direction it's heading. Her number is 575-987-2440 ...If she cant tell you, she could probably tell you who to call!

It is hard to put a good side on this story right now, but when it is all said and done your community around Timberon and beyond will be a much closer community. You will have made new friends and have stronger bonds with those around you.

We will keep praying!

I just found out today also that all Timberon was not evacuated. I thought everyone was but just the ones in certain areas.
Rumor has it that the fire was started by some young campers in that area but that's speculation.
Happy Siesta Nan.
I usually don't take naps but I'm pretty tired now but so wound up, there's just no way so maybe tonight. Full Moon's coming up soon and I don't sleep then either.
It's like I'm on speed or something? Think I should do some housework in this mode?
