Thanks much to rruff for your comments. Lots of common sense thinking can be used to find a hopefully lower wind local area.

We're being hammered by high winds right now in T or C. Which means extra duty for me. All of the windmill bearings I greased 2 weeks ago will have to be done again!

It's a bit windy in Timberon now but has been for the past week or so.
I went to Alamogordo today and it's extremely windy and dusty.

"De nada"

The windmills we have on the East side of New Mexico do a lot more than just generate electricity...

Great day today, very low Pollen Count, bright sun, cool breeze...

Default Your House

I have seen this happen time and time again.

Why people still use shingles or composite materials on a roof in New Mexico I'll never understand.

The best roofing system you can have on your home or business around these parts is metal, since metal is nearly indestructible.

I've seen metal ripped up. In fact our garage in PA had the metal ripped up I guess maybe 1985. And in 12 years no shingle damage.

But I would maybe consider a metal roof. If the warranty covered labor to replace, and not just materials.
