Hi, we're now pretty well settled into our house in Albuquerque and starting to make day trips around the area.
Cabazon Peak is a fascinating sight on the Northwestern horizon and I'd like to get some info on visiting / touring it.

We're in OK health, but are not serious back country hikers nor heavy-duty off-roaders. Is it possible to drive up to
or near the base of the peak in something like a small SUV? Are there reasonably well marked roads around it?

Any info greatly appreciated.

Mike

Go get yourself some BLM maps over at the office on Montano. Ask for the quadrant for the Cabezon area. Tons of nice trails in the area for hiking and mountain biking. Get there prior to sunrise and take plenty of photos.

You can drive a car to the trailhead's if you like.
