But seriously, what the stats don't show is that there are a lot of really awesome people who live here, too. The majority.
Absolutely! We've bought our retirement home in Texas but will continue to visit New Mexico regularly.

I wrote one sentence about it. You countered with a long screed of 18 paragraphs. TLDR.

Great! New Mexico remains open to Texans-- whether you need an abortion or not!

Yep, and I wasn't going to let that go, fellow Aries.

Ha ha! I'm not a Texan and am post-menopausal but will continue to visit lovely NM, as I've done since early childhood. Northern NM and Sedona, AZ are two of my favorite places in the world!

Those great people continue to elect these politicians. It continues to amaze me in this state how its citizens elect political figures that want to redistribute wealth from highly successful people to less successful people. It's a constant, and it's at the root of why this state will never be Texas, Colorado, Arizona, or Utah.

My controversial opinion, but this might be a good thing.

These horrendous politicians basically keep the cities barely functioning, and certainly do not promote business or any kind of economic growth. This keeps land cheap, and prevents people from moving to New Mexico in any kind of significant number. Can you imagine if New Mexico had a significant business or industrial draw to it? What it would do for housing over there? You literally have some of the most beautiful natural landscape anywhere on the planet. With the corrupt and greedy politicians they have, you'd have neighborhood tracts literally surrounding every single National Park, and all up and down the Rio Grande.

Honestly, I should start buying up some of that land before the citizenry gets smart, and starts electing politicians who actually care about the citizenry and economic growth. I already own a bunch of land in Deming, maybe need to start looking to see if there's anything near the Rio Grand.
