We have lot's of clay in the soil and windy days. Need something to hold the soil and also provide some type of ground cover.
Looking online also and I think the grass needs some type of Rye mix

Thanks, HW

I've lived in the desert southwest most of my long life and have learned that "domesticating" the native flora is the best way to have hearty plants - including buffalo and grama grasses. The key to success is having enough water to irrigate more often than normal rainfall provides. With drought resistant plants, if they get a bit more water than nature provides they will react accordingly with "abnormal" growth. My yard is all buffalo grass. Other grasses native to NM are black grama, purple three-awn, tobosa, and burrograss.
