Talking Great September vacation in the 4 corners area

Wife and I stayed at a 4 star B&B in Farmington (Casa Blanca) and day-tripped from there. Even loved Farmington. A bit funky and gritty with great local restaurants in the historic downtown area.
Casa Blanca B&B in Farmington, Shiprock, view of Shiprock from top of the Chuska Mountains, Monument Valley on a great cool sunny day, historic 2 Grey Hills Trading post with the owner and his wife.

If you make it to Durango, look up Apple Orchard Inn. You won't regret it! Great views of the Train in the morning and afternoon accross the road and pasture.
