I refuse to get my trees from Lowes or Home Depot. I am in forked River but will drive anywhere to get good quality trees. As anyone can guess, this is my first christmas in my new home. I just got married in July and want to have a great first christmas. I have 14ft high ceilings, so i kinda would like a big tree

Go somewhere where you can cut down the tree yourself; it adds a nice element to the process.

I buy from a local volunteer fire department. It's a big fundraiser for them and I'd rather support them.

Cut your own is fun -- ONCE!! After that, really not worth the bother to me.

I started the tradition a few years ago of cutting our own down. It's an activity for me and my daughters - Dad stays home. It's so much fun for all of us, from the picking to the cutting to the dragging. There's a place in Skillman, NJ right behind J&J. They have beautiful trees.
Cutting your own is great, you're sure they are fresh and I can tell you, they last a lot longer than the precut ones I've had in the past.
Just a funny/stupid note, the first two years, I pulled on the branches to see if the needles fell off easily, you know, to see if it was a fresh tree - old habits die hard. Doesn't get fresher than that. You will love the experience.
