The Non-Partisan Center of Responsive Politics just released their latest study.

Nothing Illegal. Just gets you thinking how a group of people who claim to UNDERSTAND & REPRESENT middle, upper middle, and lower income americans can possibly truly understand.

Here's the results from CRP:

44% of ALL Members of Congress, Republicans & Democrats, Senators & House members- that's 237 members of Congress are Multi-Millionaires.

vs.

Just a little less than 2% of all americans have reached millionaire net worth status.

a Full whopping 77% of the 44% of millionaires have a net worth of over $10 million dollars

And of that 77%, almost half them are worth atleast over $25 million

Nothing wrong with that. In a Free, Democratic, Capitalist nation- Goood bless them.

Its the " I can feel for you, I understand what you are going thru, I am fighting for all the middle class & the poor", that makes you really think.

Last- in case its any interest to you.

86% of ALL current Governors in our 50 states are Millionaires. 63% of them worth over $10 Million

Among the millionaires Include our New Governor-Elect Chris Christie & of course our soon to be former Governor Jon Corzine.

Oh well, as long as you know that these people are just human. Some of them may truly emphatize with the common middle class. But just like any person, when you go home to a mansion & luxury every night & every weekend- its hard to pretend that things are tight financially like many americans.

Alot of them made it while being in congress. The pay aint bad and the bennies make NJ teachers drool.

My biggest gripe with Biden wasnt that he was a millionaire. Its that he was not a bigger millionaire. Mismanagement of money.... Hes been in congress earning top 2-3% pay for all Americans WITH NO LAYOFFS for 30 years... You should need a wheelbarrow for that much money.*

* Some peeps say hes hidden the money to places the disclosure statements dont ask about.

This country is not a democracy. It is a capitalist federal republic.

Republic vs. Democracy

In theory, we're a republic. In reality, we have an oligarchy. The article below is good. The accompanying short video has good visuals:

In parts of San Francisco every single row house is worth over $1 million. The owners, mostly elderly Chinese and Russians bought them in the 1960's for around $30,000. So even though these people are living on their Social Security and shopping at Goodwill they are all Millionaires

FYI- The calculation they used does NOT include Equity of their Primary Residence.

So a person having high appreciation on their primary residence is NOT part of the net worth calculation used. ( which is appropriate because Equity is paper wealth. It can do up but it can also go down- and disappear. As what is happening today around the country)

I don't think there is any doubt that most of Congress is on the take. Tbhe shocking part is how cheaply they can be bought.

I don't really care if elected officials are empathetic I care that they make decisions I agree with. It stands to reason that elected officials are wealthy. I costs a lot to run for office and these people are driven and driven people are usually successful people.
