^^ Okay, I see in the link, Cape May is named a beautiful town. (Did they not film Pete's Dragon there? That was one of my favorite movies as a kid.)

I think we will find, here, that different towns are considered "beautiful" to different people.

Lists like this are almost always exclusively resort towns... well duh... It is a resort town. It wouldn't be one if it wasn't beautiful. A lot of the homes are rentals and thus maintained like a business.

Show me a non-resort town that somehow manages to maintain itself with beauty.... a testament to the community itself rather than generation of revenue.

For every resort town, there are low income area that serves it... areas that aren't pretty by any margin. Of course the general public ignores that.

Well, is it unexpected that a travel magazine would focus on resort towns?

Camden and Paterson are never going to be on such a list, no.

Cape May is a resort town with well-maintained properties dating to the 19th and early 20th centuries. It holds the distinction of being the FIRST seaside resort, and the oddity of its history of being a resort town in a northern state that was affected by the Civil War, because people used to stay in Cape May with their slaves.

It is a very attractive town but I think there are others just as nice. Spring Lake for one ,Chatham ,Princeton, Cranberry, Montclair and a few others!

I agree with Chatham and Montclair... neither exist primarily as a resort.
