Hillsborough is one of the fastest growing towns in Somerset Co., but is served by only one major route. Route 206 is always crowded and at commuter hour it is especially bad. You have to travel 206 or River Road a local road to reach the major highways, 287,78. This is one reason the homes are a little cheaper(not much) than the other Somerset Co. towns located closer to the major routes.

I have never heard anything negative about the schools.

I lived in the Boro from ages 4 - 18 (1977-1992). The is nothing wrong with the town, but it is getting way overpopulated. The only major road is Route 206 and it is a bottle neck in Hillsborough. Expect a lot of traffic jams as you drive through the town as Route 206 goes down to one lane in the Boro.

Schools are fine. The school system has grown significantly since I graduated and the high school has added things like a new football field and swimming pool. We had just about any activity available to us whether it be sports or performing arts. I wouldn't say it is the best school but probably better than average overall.

thanks a lot for the input. but i didn't like the location of the house i went to see.its so remotely located ... i'd feel quite uncomfortable living all alone in that house.hence, went and saw another house being built by the same builder at manalapan, monmouth county. looked good to me. thay said the school system is good there. any idea abt manalapan?
