I have family in Lyndhurst and they do have an awful lot of nice activities for the kids. You know the nice park they have! They have a really nice celebration on the 4th and they have a lovely Christmas outing in the park, complete with carolers, Santa, sleigh rides... There are great stores right in town. Nice supermarkets a nice Perkins.

The elementary schools can vary greatly and there is competiton to get into the "better" of the schools. If I'm not mistaken, "Washington" is now the desired school followed by "Jefferson."

Please feel free to write more here or send me a DM - I can even put you in contact w/ my family from the town (they love it, btw...)
Thanks so much, I really loved the town park, they did a great job with it! My oldest loved the sprayground, and my impression was that it was a very nice community. If we get more serious about it, I'll definitely send you a DM.

1. Commute to NY - how long does it take to get to Wall street
2. Schools - how good are the schools.
3. Is it safe for wife and kids to go around during the night.

Thanks in advance for any information

Venkat
1. Wall Street in rush hour takes twnety minutes.
2. Elementary schoopl is excellent and a big reason why many people move to Harmon Cove. High School is better in Montclair and many residents of Harmon Cove send their high school children to Montclair, nine miles away.
3. It is absolutely safe. I am 5 feet tall and don't hesitate to walk my dogs in the middle of the night. The walking trails are well lit and we are a gated community.

Good luck!

Giving this thread a bump and answering the previous poster's question as well...

I have some friends that lived in the towers....monthly maintenance is roughly $700+ and property taxes are $4,000 or so per year.

To the residents of Harmon Cove Towers - what's been going on in the building? I heard there were water leaks in some units. Have you all experienced it?

I've been considering moving there myself, but just want more details before seriously looking into living there.

I'm currently in Queens now, but takes me a few subways to get into Manhattan, so I am thinking that this may be a better commute into the city.

It depends upon the unit size. Probably average is $1000/ month. Can be much higher.
