The title says it all. How well has Jersey Shore recovered from Sandy?
Thinking about going on a vacation this thanksgiving for a week... Not a romantic one, I'm a young person and just need somewhere I can stay alone, quiet with great view. I was thinking about Bayhead, but I can't find any information how well has it recovered... I mean, I don't mind if the town is still a little rough as long as there isn't a construction going on, making noise all the time. It actually would help locals for an outsider to be there and purchase their stuff or use their services. I prefer somewhere I can find several diners in walking distance... And also there should be a public transportation getting there e.g. Greyhound or NJ transit rail. Have any idea how Jersey shores are doing these days and any recommendation for a town I should stay? Thanks a lot!

Oh of course, I'm not gonna go swimming or something. It's too cold for that. I just want the scenery.

You will be fine in Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach or Bayhead. All on train line & you'll find lots of dining or shopping in Point and Manasquan. Come and enjoy!

Go to Long Beach Long Island instead, go on VRBO.

A single person in New Jersey Shore in the winter is way too boring even for a person looking to do nothing

That depends. I think spending a long time there alone would be boring, but getting away for one weekend would be relaxing. I love the beach towns in the winter, especially ones like Point Pleasant where there's an active downtown. It's calming, to me, to be at the beach during the off season, even alone. More than a few days, though, yeah I'd be bored.
