Hi, I'm trying to find a hospital, called the holy ghost hospital. it might not exist anymore, but I know it did in 1955. if anyone knows what city it used to be in or what city it's in now, please let me know, it is really important that i find out. i've tried googling it, but its just not coming up. if anyone can help, please do. thanks.
i know theres a holy name hospital, but my grandmother told me my uncle was born at the holy ghost, she said she'd pretty positive. we just dont know what city it used to be in. my grandmother has no clue because my uncle is adopted.
I wonder if it was a "home for unwed mothers" kind of place rather than a hospital.
Have you tried some local historical societies or calling some of the archdiocese offices for NJ? It was surely a Catholic-run place, judging by the name. You might even call Holy Name Hospital (in Teaneck) and ask them if they've ever heard of a maternity home called Holy Ghost, that you're doing family research for an uncle born in 1955. Probably will be a dead end, but you never know.
