I am in south eastern Bergen County. Yesterday and the day before I was able to get gas for the generator, but today isn't looking so good.

As most of the area around me is still without power, it seems like most gas stations are closed.

Is it reasonable to assume that areas that have power also have gas?

Can anyone recommend an area where there are plenty of gas stations open?

I work in your area of the county and live in Western Essex. We are in the same boat. Power was just restored here last night and we are experiencing an hour wait at stations that now have power. I would say pay attention to areas near you that are getting power restored today and be one of the first to find a newly opened station.

I am in essex and I cannot find any stations with less then 2 hour line. Checked newark and bloomfield. I want to check 1&9 but don't want to waste gas driving there.

There's a Facebook ID called "Jersey Shore Hurricane News". They are updating gas/food/water resources very frequently (every 30-60 minutes, I think). https://www.facebook.com/JerseyShoreHurricaneNews

This is more central-Jersey, so might not help North Jersey people, but my boyfriend just got gas on Route 206 in Hamilton Twp. He said that on 206 between Hamilton and Bordentown there were a number of stations open, with power, and that hve not run out of gas (yet). He also said the line was only about 10 minutes, but that was like 8 AM.

I always thought gas stations were the perfect place of business to install solar panels, given the overhead covers over the pumps.

Would be nice if gas stations in NJ had them now!!!

There's an issue with gas supply from what I understand. It's not just a matter of who is open/has power and who is not.

I drove to an office on SI to work today. The line I passed on the Turnpike's Thomas Edison rest stop backs up onto the Turnpike.
