What parts of Denville are good to look in? I think with our budget, although it's not super high, is enough that we could get a house in the nicer areas of Denville. I like Randolph but it's just really far from any highways. . . takes like 15-20 mins to get to 80 or 287. . .

For greater highway access than Randolph, also take a look at Hanover Twp and Montville.

Stay away from the lake communities. They flooded badly during the hurricane.

Hanover Twp. (Whippany/Cedar Knolls). Great schools, great neighborhoods, close to all the highways.

Important not to generalize about entire towns. Some areas of Denville do occasionally flood, especially downtown near the Rockaway river. Many areas are not subject to flooding. And many areas in the lake communities are also not flood prone. Each property must be judged individually, looking at its base elevation and proximity to bodies of water and established flood zones. The vast majority of Denville is not flood prone, unlike, say, Pequannock. And even in Pequannock, many areas never flood.

Not true, and there are shacks in Mendham. The 124 families who paid a median of $334,000 in the last year to purchase a home in Denville probably do not regard it as a dump. And I'm sure the 21 families who ponied up over $600,000 definitely do not.
