Has anyone switched their electric provider from JCPL to North American Power? I keep getting flyers in the mail saying that you can save 22% on your electric bill if you switch, and that JCPL has the highest rates in NJ. If anyone can provide any information regarding this I would appreciate it.

I've been wondering the same. Some of my neighbors switched and are reporting savings. I'll ask in details tonight.

Anybody? I keep getting fliers from them in the mail and they are substantially cheaper than JCPL. Just wondering if anyone has used them or knows if it's worth switching.

i'm not all that much help but one of these companies called me and tried to get me to switch. they told me to pull out my bill, which i did, and it turned about jcp&l was cheaper - even the rep said "oh yeah, we can't beat that" - wtf? don't they know the prices before cold calling? it's not like these prices are some mystery.

I've been considering switching too but what concerns me is emergency service. Can anyone whose made the switch tell us what how the new electric company handles emergency services? (like outages and down branches etc?)

This past fall we lost electric during the freak snowstorm and it took a couple of days but I saw PSE&G out there ASAP and I generally feel like they did a pretty good job considering the circumstances. I have yet to see a single one of these other companies sending out work vans during a storm (or any other time for that matter).

I want to save 20% but I definitely don't want to be without power for 20% longer than my neighbors!!

while searching I found that outage will be taken care same way for all customers as PSE&G will be your career regardless of supplier.
My questions:
1) is switch really result in savings? Are there any catch?
2) how easy to switch back to PSEG if we are not happy.?
3)which company is best to switch.
