I am in contract for a home in Edison NJ.. I will be paying cash. The selling agent is from Century 21 and my agent is from Century 21 but another office. After my inspection was done my agent jumped on the phone to the other agent to say the boiler wasnt working..The other agent said the owner will not be making any repairs and that he had numerous offers on the table for the house and that he told the owner to put house on the market for $40,000 more but she refused. Friday I get a call from my agent stating that the other agent and owner was at the house and to come by. the boileris working.. My agent said she couldnt go because she had a wedding. She said listen Ill meet u there tomorrow around three..After I arrived there the other agent walked in annoyed..He got the boiler working which I might add is from 1957..so I tested the hot water and that is cold..so I said its cold he said hey if you dont like it walk away from the deal..I said it isnt up to you ..I have a contract..He then told me to get out of the house..I felt I was ambused..I finally said this is wrong ...This should being going through attorneys and I dont have to discuss anything with you. Can I file a complaint about this and to who ?

I believe you would contact the broker the agent works under.

Hopefully you are using an attorney on this
If you are then
Let your attorney know what is going on, Sure they could get it working for a few minutes or hours but what happens in the middle of the winter when you are living there and it goes out again ?
When we have something like that turn up then we have it certified by a specialist that it is working or the attorneys work out a deal where the buyer will get a credit at closing....If the house was listed for sale AS IS then it is up to you whether you want to go through with the deal and fix it on your own , I would still talk to your attorney and see what they say

P.S
That agent was an A-- for treating any client like that
and in no way should your agent have let you meet them at the house to see it was working ,( you already had it inspected by a specialist ) if anything they should have called him to come back and check it but they probably knew they could not fool him

If you don't get anywhere with the broker
then try this link
NJ Real Estate Commission - Bureau of Subdivided Land Sales Control
