Hello Everyone:
We are in the process of buying a house in iselin, NJ. The house is built in 1957. We need a good home inspector who does the job well and can look into the minor things also.
I was able to reach Shelter works. I left messages on the rest of the companies. They are saying they would charge $800 for 3 (radon, termite and home ) inspections. Is this a reasonable price? I have no idea how much a home inspection would cost. Please let me know.
Peake Home Inspections did the inspection for the buyers of our house in Iselin. I think they're out of Point Pleasant, and they provided a pretty thorough report. $800 sounds pretty high IMO- I'd think around $300-400 for the actual inspection, add another $75-100 for radon, and the same for termites, and maybe you're looking at $500-600 total.
I just did a home inspection recently; for radon, termites and General Home Inspection, it cost me around $500. If you don't need radon, it would be $100 something less.
As I'm a Chinese, I picked a Chinese Inspector; so that, we can speak Native Chinese for better communication and understandings.
IMO, he sounds experienced and honest. If you're interested into this Inspector, PM me then.
I used Phoenix Home inspections in Elizabeth about a month ago with pretty good results. he took the time to explain lots of things to my wife and I and the price was reasonable(499 with radon and terminte)
Thanks. Do you have a contact number for them and any individual from that company in specific?
