I am having a tough time understanding Christie's logic on this one. So he is saying that no Super should make more then his 175k? His argument really has two major major holes.
#1 He has APPOINTED people (friends) who make more then his salary.
#2 If a certain town receives NO state educational funding, who is he to decide what someone can be paid? I understand him capping districts that the state pays into but if you receive nothing should you really have to run things according to Christie? BOE for the most part are elected if you dont like what your BOE is doing vote them out. A lot of people in upper echelon towns feel their Supers are doing a great job and have no problem paying a high salary. Am I way off base on this one?
Seems to be a silly fight especially with the way he completely cut funding to a lot of towns.
I thought everyone was pi$$ed off with Christie for going after teacher's salaries while not going after the administration.
Not sure he is going after teachers salaries. The same does hold true for pretty much any town though. If the state does not pay into a certain municipality why should they be beholden to him?
Lets also not forget he has hired more then a few people at more then his salary. Do they get cut as well? Just saying.
Baba, NO GOVERNMENT WORKER SHOULD GET PAID MORE THAN 150K. And i am one. That's why property taxes are killing people in NJ.
Honestly thats not my debate. I have a hard time saying no govt worker should make that much because a lot of skilled people work in the govt, for example lawyers, engineers and other that I believe should be well compensated. What I am saying is should Christie have a say especially considering the points I made in the first message.

Also I really dont want to change the topic but the reason we have such high taxes is really the fact the Trenton passes on the education bills to municipalities. Some how Trenton has been pissing away the money and passing the buck to individual towns.

The state contibutes to municipal education budgets in the form of state aid. I don't think there is a municipality that receives "0" State education funding.
I don't know if #1 is true, but even if it is, it is irrelevent. The governor is saying a given position should make $175,000 max, he isn't sying the highest government salary should be $175K.

Sorry to say but you are wrong on both points. More then a handful of towns lost 100% of state funding. How could it be irrelevent as he is not responsible for paying any of their salary? You have every right to ***** if you pay the salary but if you dont contribute 1 penny how in the world does that make you boss?
Point 2 Christie continues to blast the super only because they make more then him. He is outraged that someone in the public sector makes more then him because he has much more responsibility. I actually agree with thim on this, but I cant see how he would then go and hire his boys at a higher salary then him.
Still waiting for someone to make some sense out of this. Sounds to me like he is playing NJ politics. If thats the case, I totally understand but this guy is supposed to be anti NJ politics.
Let not forget the Christie defends his boy making 195k for doing pretty much nothing. Am I the only one that can see through this? The guy is actually making it too easy to not like or trust him.
Let me guess this guy Larkin should make more the Christie?
Did someone mention NJ politics?
