I've taken the early morning bus from the mall into midtown and walked to the Port Authority at night for return to mall , fairly easy commute. I know they also have a direct bus to Wall Street at the mall but it looks like too long a walk to PA from there at night.

Any suggestions on the best route to get back to NJ? Is there a better train scenario? Is it easier to park in Hoboken and take the Ferry? Thanks.

Helicopter !!

No easy answer. That is a long walk for the bus. Driving to Hoboken isn't a picnic -- besides ferry, could also take PATH from there to WTC. Otherwise train from Dover (or other stop on Morris line) to Hoboken or Penn?

Drive to Harrison and take the path from there.

Or take the train from Dover to Hoboken and path from there.

Default Another Alternative

Thanks for the info. If I took the early morning Lakeland Bus to Wall Street it seems like taking the train home to Dover is the best alternative. Is it better to take a bus from Wall Street to Penn Station (NY) then NJ Transit train home? Is there a direct subway from Wall Street to Penn that's better than taking a bus there?

Never navigated the Path/Hoboken thing. Any advatage to that over going to Penn?

Appreciate the advice.

Why not just take the subway back up to Port Authority and take the bus from there? You can find a park/ride lot in Morris County that has frequent service and park there. I think the Rockaway Mall has one, or you can park in Dover. I use the Parsippany park/ride at Waterview; it has very frequent service all through the evening rush hour.

Default Good Ideas

Thanks to all. I'll give taking a bus to Port Authority at night then grabbing the Lakeland Bus home back to the Mall. I go on HopStop to figure out what subway. I think the train will get old fast, but who knows. Appreciate the input.
