Its been 7 years since I moved away from NH, I moved to Florida for college (ironically one of the worst states for education). I am now married and have a little guy. We have been planning our move for about a year and a half. August is when we move into the condo we purchased in Concord. I was wondering if anyone who grew up in NH, moved away then moved back could share how it felt to be back and if they are pleased with the decision to come back.
I diid!! I left NH & spent 10 yrs in So. Cal. It would have been 'doable' (although not so happily) if we didn't have kids, but we didn't want to raise our kids there. We returned last Aug., and it's been a huge relief. My kids weren't even used to having traditional seasons, and they wonder not just at seasonal changes but weather conditions, nature, forests, etc. We went from suburban life to a more rural existence, which was also a relief.
Best of luck in your move and settling in in NH!
