My family is planning on moving to Nevada next summer(2010). We are trying to figure out which would be the best place to live Boulder City or Laughlin. We have an 8 year old son so we need to now which schools are the best and what our options are. Also, we will be job hunting. Which area has the most and better paying jobs. Are Boulder City and Laughlin good places to live?

As was pointed out above you should read the existing threads.

Unless you are very unusual you will end up in neither one.

So which town is the best one to live in, if neither Laughlin or Boulder City are the favorite?

For those lacking telepathic abilities . . what are the specifics of YOUR criteria?

I think the basic reason for going to Nevada is to have less taxation.

True among the well off. The less well off have commonly come for work. That is likely to be more difficult in BC and Laughlin.

How do you classify well off? My neighbors are middle class and they are moving to Vegas for the tax consequences and the myriad of activities there. Channel that with the close proximity to a great air hub for trips and the home prices are pretty good.

But, I do understand the lower income folks just need a job.

Hey I came for taxes...but don't get carried away with that. You need an income to care abut taxes and I doubt 25% of the people who move here have that.

The well off have incomes above the family averages...without working.
