Hello. My family may be making a move to the Nashville area this year. My husband's job will be in Lebanon, so we are wanting to live in Lebanon or somewhere in that area. We have 2 school aged children and the oldest has Autism. Does anyone know how the special education program and schools in general are in Lebanon? Specifically does it have specialized Autism services? Does anyone know of a school district in the Nashville area that specializes in Autistic children? We are not locked into living in Lebanon. Our main concern is a great program for our son. Thanks so much.

Our youngest is high-functioning autistic. He is in school in Mt. Juliet and doing well, we love his teachers, but your mileage may vary. The city of Lebanon has its own K-8 district separate from the Wilson County system and I don't know what services they have. I have heard, anecdotally, that Williamson County has a good program for autistic children but I can't give any specifics. I'd also look at Rutherford County, it's a doable commute to Lebanon and it may have options (especially with MTSU's proximity).
