My wife and I have all but decided that next spring we will be moving to Nashville.

Our son will be starting kindergarten in the Fall of 2008. We will probably rent a place in either Brentwood or Franklin. I know that both of the above referenced school districts are highly regarded. My question to those who live in the area highly recommend one over the other? Is it a no-lose situation either way we go?

If you are renting then it probably won't matter, but I believe those living in the Special School district, then there may be higher taxes. Don't quote me on that, I live in Davidson, but something to check into if you decide to buy. The special school district is a lot smaller and may not have all there is to offer that the county schools do. But yes, I believe they both are very highly regarded, and no matter what you choose the education should be good.

I live in FSSD and yes, there is an additional tax for homeowners in this district.

Both school districts are very good. We're moving out of FSSD this summer into WCS. You're in good shape in both.
