I'm going to be visiting my daughter at the end of May. She lives in Clarksville, but I imagine we will get to the Nashville area to shop. What or towns have nice shopping district with a nice mix of shops, books, clothes, toys, gifts, etc.? I am not looking to mall shop, a mall is a mall, is a mall.

Any ideas would be appreciated. My daughter has not been in Clarksville long enough to have gone shopping around Nashville much, and when she has been, it's been with her husband and infant son, and they are not good shoppers at all!

TIA!

Well, I still think a visit to Opryland Hotel, and then possibly shopping at Opry Mills might be enjoyable for you. I've recommended it to some other friends from out-of-state and they've all enjoyed it.

Other than that, you might enjoy downtown Franklin and the Hillsboro Village/21st Ave. area of Nashville. There is also some shopping downtown around Second Avenue.

Franklin's Main St. is wonderful. Great shops & restaurants. Then go a mile past the square to the Factory for more shopping, artisan workshops, etc.

Have a great time!

I like going to Nashville's Farmers Market for an afternoon.

Opry Mills is ok, but it is mall-like. Lots of tourists at Opry Mills, but nicer than a regular mall.

if Malls are not your thing then there are a lot of boutique stores in the Village on 21st ave near Vandy, 12th ave South, which is just referred to as 12th south and 8th ave south has some interesting antique stores and stuff, there is also Elllington place off of Church street near Centenial park. And you might like to hang around 5 points which is east of downtown at Woodland Street and 11th. And of course there is always downtown 2nd ave

Here's a link to some of the small independently owned shops in East Nashville. Not all the businesses are right in five points. You can buy some really unique gifts at these places and I leave with a better feeling than going to Walmart, Target, or you name them Ross, Kohls, Marshalls, TJ Max...etc...
