Does anyone know of any group, church or government agency to contact so we can help clean up poor Murfreesboro? Red Cross is accepting only cash contributions at this time.

I was wondering the same thing. I can volunteer my time or if any items are needed for these families that have been affected. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that has been affected.

Most of the time when there's major damage in an area, the community with have a "help clean up day" a few days later. There will probably be one for Murfreesboro.

If you wish to donate, the Church of Christ is good about sending food and supplies (I'm not a member of the CoC, I just notice them doing that allot).

Thanks alleycat. If you hear of anything else please let us know. I'll check out the Church of Christ for donations needed. Then will wait to hear anything on the clean up day. I would like to help in any way I can.

I'm sure the TV stations will list organizations where people can sent donations a little later. Tonight the focus has all been on the damage done.

This morning the Red Cross said it needed monetary donations only. They have plenty of supplies. News Channel 5 has a section you can click on to make a donation. Here is the direct link: Heart of Tennessee Chapter of Rutherford Bedford Coffee Cannon Franklin & Moore Counties

The Tennessean Newspaper in Nashville has an article on ways you can help the tornado victims of Murfreesboro. Here is the link: http://www.tennessean.com/article/20...WS01/904110336

Have a safe and happy Easter!

While I know people want to help, you can help better by staying away at the current time.

Monetary donations are the most helpful at this time. Emergency crews need to room to get around and as good as our intentions may be and as much as it is killing me personally not to go and help, the best thing we can do is stay out of the way and let everyone do their jobs.
