Hello,I'm relocating to the Nashville area in the next few months and will be working in Nashville. I've been looking west of Nolensville pike and really like the homes in Bradford Hills,Villages of Brentwood and Bridle Downs and the drive into downtown appears to be an easy commute as well.I've been told that the area called Antioch is probably not the safest place to live by a few friends who live in Murfreesboro, so I'm wondering would buying a home west of nolensville pike be safer and considered a nice place to live.

We live very near Bradford Hills and like the general area a lot. We used to live just next to Villages of Brentwood. If you learn the back routes, the commute from that particular neighborhood is going to be about 10 to 15 minutes shorter than from Bradford Hills (depending on the time of day). We find either location pretty good for commuting either to Cool Springs or downtown. I don't feel unsafe in this area. Good luck deciding!

Bradford Hills and Villages of Brentwood were the second and third most popular by number of sales in Area 1 of "Nashville" last year in 2008. Their average sold price kept up pretty well between 2007 and 2008 with what looks like about a 2% decrease in both between the two years...which isn't too bad for such times as this.

If your budget allows a slight increase from those two neighborhoods, Crieve Hall is definitely one you should check out as well. It sold the most homes in 2008 in South Nashville - Area 1 and has been popular choice for many for awhile now. Crieve Hall actually saw a slight increase in the average sold price from 2007 to 2008.

You should also try The Woodlands...across the road from the Villages of Brentwood and Christ Church.
