Hi there,

I was just reading through threads on the Austin, TX site and then came back to Nashville forum to search for "allergies". Didn't see anything specific for Murfreesboro. I have allergies, my daughter has allergies. We're not feeling too good outside of Orlando for maybe a couple of weeks twice a year. would any of you know if it will become worse or better if we move to Murfreesboro? I have no idea what blooms here but it's usually around the end of summer (September) and spring (march/april) that it's the worst here. It takes about 2 years to start getting allergies when you move to a new place, so if allergies are really bad in Murfreesboro, at least we may have two years to get them! LOL

I can't speak for Murfreesboro, but here in Nashville (30 miles to the Northwest), ragweed is in season this time of year. I used to have bad allergies, mainly grass and some trees, but took allergy shots for around 5 years, and now I have no problems at all with allergies here.

My allergies were bad year round due to being allergic to mold, but (knock on wood or my head) have not had any problems in the last 2 years.

I, also, may not be having problems due to the fact we are having a drought here and allot of things I am allergic to are not growing very well, like the grass in my back yard.

Probably much worse. My wife had troublesome allergies in Florida. Here, they are so bad prohibit her from doing a lot of things.

I have allergies here. I sneeze a lot. I did in FL too though. I take Claritin just about everyday. I also have not gotten used to the drier climate. My sinus's act up more here. With that said, I am still glad I made the move.
I remember some really bad days in FL too. I would get some major headaches there. Here I just use some saline solution because my sinus's are real dry.

hmmmmm -- would be great to hear from a few others and how they fare after their move to Nashville area....

I also just finished reading up on the cleanest and dirtiest cities (ie. pollution, particles and ozone) and Florida has the top cleanest (Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa). Who knew??
Nashville was not on either list (top 10 cleanest nor dirtiest - not sure where it ranks).

I moved here from Northern New Jersey in 1994 and my allergies are about the same. Nothing got worse though. I sneeze and have hayfever, but I take Claritin too daily and I manage without much complaint.
