I see the only Gold's Gym in the Nashville area is in Murfreesboro. Is there a gym of similar caliber in Franklin?

I can tell you the Ys here are noting like where I used to live. Very nice- worth checking out. Each has their own distinct personality, so shop around. There's also Franklin Athletic (and Murfreesboro Athletic), Prairie Life, 24 Hour Fitness, etc. I'm sure you'll find something that suits you.

Prairie Life near the corner of Baker's Bridge and Carothers (around the corner from Cool Springs Mall) is nice, even though I think the name is kindof odd for the area-seems like they would have come up with a more marketable name for it...anyway, I think it's great for the money and not a bunch of kids running all over the place like the YMCAs, which I can't stand. It's hardly ever crowded over there compared to a lot of places. If you are looking for an old school gym with the steroided up types check out Fuel Fitness-but for the money PL is a good deal.

I'm LOL @ steroided types, I'm a 45 year old woman who is definitely NOT steroid material. The thing I like about Gold's is they have so much equipment and good programs for women...AND you can get your nails done and drop off your dry cleaning all in one spot! I will check out Prairie Life, although I have to agree...weird name for a gym!

I'm a woman and also love Prairie Life. Although they don't offer nail service or dry cleaning, they do have a massage therapist on staff. There are great classes attended by both men and women and their weight and machine room is great. There are several personal trainers on staff. They also have a heated indoor pool as well as an outdoor poos. Hot tubs, saunas, towel service, a cafe/lunch bar and a large kids area. Wonderful locker rooms. And, I love the fact that there aren't kids all over the place, too. There's more, so you'll have to check it out.

I go to the Y in Cool Springs --- it's very quiet, it has everything you need. -- nothing like the one in Brentwood...which is like a city within itself!
