Most weather aps on your computer should let you add 5 alternate sites. If you want to compare Knoxville with Nashville or Memphis do that. With Accuweather or Weather Underground you can be as specific as the zip code.

Beware Brutally Honest Opinion......The weather here is awful and the only people that seem to like are people from areas like Cleveland, upstate NY, Michigan, Wisconsin, and etc because they are from the worst parts of the snow belt. They will lie to your face and tell you the weather here is pretty warm and great here because back in god knows Marquette, Michigan or Green Bay, Wisconsin it was blizzarding blah blah blah. Then they want to **** and moan about how hot the summers are here when the summers here are actually mild. The bugs are the most annoying thing about the summer not the weather imho. It is currently Wednesday 10/28 and I do not think I have seen the sun come out since Thursday. Coming from California you will definitely take a large hit when it comes to weather quality. You said you like the greenery of Nashville, but it gets completely brown in the winter with constant overcast/raining in the winter and spring. March is the worst month out of the year because you are completely over it and it seems to rain and snow the most for some reason. January and February are just cold lol. By Mid April, the trees start looking green again and by mid May it starts getting in the 80s lol.

All of the above. And be prepared to hit up the Vitamin D. It took a year of rx Vit. D to get my levels back to normal.

The best thing is to go walking, jogging, running, hiking, biking, boating, anything to get outside for at least 10 minutes a day. Just not on a cloudy day like today.

I grew up in Northeast OH but lived in San Diego for 6 years before coming to Nashville. I've lived here for the last 2 years. It was rough moving here in the dead of winter from beautiful San Diego... it was colder than I expected. BUT, after 2 full years of seasons, i do think Nashville is more on the mild side for winters.

I do love that the skies here are so open and blue...year round in my opinion. I'm surprised to see so many responding that winters are so gray. They have never been to the northeast LOL. And no power lines all over everything like in southern ca... that is a major plus! The biggest difficulty here for me has been not resting my eyes on any ocean. I used to live in a beach community so not seeing the ocean every day is the biggest drawback for me.

Following up an earlier post, this is my first winter here - northeast my whole life. Honestly speaking, what freaking universe have I entered? To see the sun in January feels like I won the Powerball.

So unless something changes drastically over the next month or so, my summary of Nashville weather is that it is very nice all year, except for the Spring, during which time the storms might kill you or destroy your property.

Nashville has the type of weather that varies year to year, especially winters.

Love to visit my family here but the weather is bad most of the times I’ve visited. The best time I have seen is Sept or October. The winters are cold and grey and I would miss seeing the snow capped mountains a few miles from my house in So Cal. The summers are terrible in my experienced due to the humidity. I love visiting Nashville but have no desire to move here.
