Hi,

I'm considering a move to Nashville and am looking at neighborhoods. Just wondering if anyone can offer any comments about the Burton Hills/Cherry Glen area in Green Hills off Hillsboro Pike just south of the Mall of Green Hills. Is this a good location? Is it safe?

It appears it is in an ideal location---close to the Hill Center, the new Nordstrom's coming in 2010, etc. The traffic may be a negative, as it seems to be such a popular area. Anyway, it would be great to hear everyone's thoughts. If it helps, I am a single professional, if that is helpful for any advice you may give. Thank you so much.

Great location. Yes, it is very popular and prices tend to show that. You can't go wrong in that area unless you despise traffic. You are already aware of the new development in the area, it sounds like, and the things to come (Nordstrom and Trader Joe's...yippee). You are extremely close to everything Green Hills has to offer, but you're incredibly close to Hillsboro Village, Vanderbilt, West End and Downtown as well. I think that would appeal to a single professional who wants to be close to everything in the city. I consider that area in Green Hills more urban suburban because the homes are more surburban (has garages, smaller lots, subdivisions) and the area itself is a cross between urban and suburban, so if that appeals to you, go for it! Another great thing about that area is the proximity to some of Nashville's great parks and natural areas like Percy Warner Park and Radnor Lake. Either are just a short drive away also.

Good luck in your search. By the way, with your name, do you work for hgtv or are you just addicted to it?
