I am looking for a condo (1Br or 2BR for a single male) to buy that is in the 150-200K price range.

The Wedgewood exit of of I-65 has a few condos (i.e., Park at Melrose, and a few others) that could be a good fit for me. But it also may be a high crime area and a bigger investment risk for me than I realize.

I am also looking for information on the Builders for the Park at Melrose, to see if they are high quality builders (i.e., Craighead Development) with a solid reputation and track record.

Any chance anyone is able to give me some perspective on (a) that general area, (b) those condos, (c) Craighead Development, or even (d) the likely commute for me given that I will be driving to Maryland Farms at rush hour (taking either I-65 or Franklin Rd.

Thanks for any suggestions or insight you can provide!

That area is really great. It's seen some amazing appreciation since the redevelopment in the early 2000s (roughly 180% appreciation). Condos in your price range in that immediate area include The Park At Melrose, The Row at Berry Hill and Beech Tree Condos. There's another 8 condo place near Captain Ds homes there RARELY hit the market.

You can expect the commute to Maryland Farms with traffic to run between 10 and 20 minutes. I have shown and/or sold several Craighead Properties and every buyer I've had has been very pleased.
