I had no idea Nashville's hotels were so steep in price. Anyone know of a reasonable, safe hotel within city limits? Thanks!

How long of a cab ride are would you call reasonable??

And what price range would you prefer?

Trip Advisor is your best bet to search by price and location.

I'm seeing sElf -- an act originally from Murfreesboro. It's on 12/29. I'm in Denver and my Chicago crew is meeting me there. We're beyond psyched!

Hampton is $219/night. A friend mentioned Loews by Vanderbilt?

I stayed at HoJo's in West Nashville a few years ago, it was pretty low priced, but it wasn't really close in. I think if you want low priced lodging you have to give up central location, and pretty environs. The one I mention was a little worn, but that didn't bother me. Loew's I believe is 4 star so they aren't cheap. I would guess you might look between downtown and the airport if flying in/out.

Loews is the same. It's sort of a holiday weekend . . with New Years Eve on a Monday night, sounds like everyone will be partying that Saturday night because those rates ARE high for those hotels.

Are you all flying in? How many people and how many nights? Taxis aren't cheap. I was thinking about either staying at the Airport or in Cool Springs/Franklin where hotels are more in the $100 range for that night.

On the airport transportation page it says a taxi from the airport to Vanderbilt is approx $27. So if you stayed out by the airport (I like the Hyatt Place Nashville Hotel - Nashville Airport Hotel | Hyatt Place) It would cost $99 (plus tax) for a double bedded room and then about $60 for the taxi (plus tip). But you'll have to take a taxi into Nashville from the airport anyway? Or are you renting a car????

Or just stay up all night!!!
