The wife and I will be relocating to the area next month. She will work in Antioch and I will be in Spring Hill. We are hoping to find a good "halfway" point between the two for our commutes to work?? When we purchase a home we will looking for acreage 3+ acres. It's just us so we are very flexible on what we can buy. It could be a farmhouse on 20 acres or brick ranch on 3 acres. The commutes, she will need to in Antioch by 7-730am and I will need to be in Spring Hill by 6:00-6:30am.
We are very excited about this move as we have been trying to get to Tennessee for 15 years! We have a lot of friends and family in the area. The biggest plus is the largest part of the family is in Georgia and we will only be 3 hours from them versus the 10-12 hours we have been.
So what do y'all think on a good area to make a good compromise on commutes?

Not sure where you are budget-wise, but location-wise Nolensville-Arrington-Triune-Almaville-College Grove seem to be your best options.

Basically somewhere along the US-41A axis.

Depending on your budget I'd recommend certain parts of Brentwood or Nolensville (much cheaper). Nolensville would probably be my first suggestion. It's definitely a growing area.

Nolensville... and if you buy now, you're all but assured of great property value increases in the coming years.

True, but an increase is the case in just about every middle TN community. Not just exclusively Nolensville.

OP, I would look at Nolensville or parts of Smyrna/Murfreesboro that are close to I-24 or I-840. The Almaville Rd. exit area is good as well.

In terms of house appreciation, I would bet the east side of Nolensville would be the best bet. The west side (near Brentwood) is already quite pricey. As Nolensville becomes a more desirable community, I think neighborhoods on the east side (and eventually on the south side) will see the higher percentage increase in value.

I would also consider looking at West Murfreesboro.

Those suggesting Nolensville probably haven't been in the area in the last year or two. The home prices in that area have sky rocketed and traffic is an absolute nightmare.

I agree with Nashvols - Arrington-Triune-Almaville-College Grove are definitely your best bets if you want any land. It is also gorgeous in that area.

With your criteria being land, start your search just West of Murfreesboro and follow 840 west over to 65. That will give you several options including Nolensville, Arrington, College Grove, Rockvale, Eagleville, as well as parts of Brentwood, Franklin. You should be able to find a good property.
