Hi! So I'm pretty new to town and trying to get a flavor of what Nashville has to offer. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the best meals around town for under $10. What are the best lunch spots hidden away here?

Arnold's Country Kitchen
605 8th Ave S
Nashville, TN 37203

The line will probably go out the door, but it moves quickly, and there's a reason so many people want to eat there. It's good. Nashville is famous for its meat-and-threes, and Arnold's Country Kitchen is probably the most popular (certainly my favorite). You'll see politicians, homeless, tourists, executives, college kids, and senior citizens all delightfully packed in there, eating some of the best Southern food you'll ever put in your mouth. It's cafeteria style and is open only M-F, 10:30-2:30.

I like Jasmine for Thai food but it's in Brentwood/Cool Springs. Also Miyako - $7.50 Bento box - salad, soup, Chicken teriyaki, shrimp tempura and rice!

LUNCH is under $10.

The Frist Museum has a lovely little cafe and I'm sure the sandwiches there are under $10. Good food, nice atmosphere.

La Hacienda on Nolensville Rd.

La Hacienda Taqueria | Authentic Mexican Restaurant

Also, most of the taco trucks up and down the same road are affordable and delicious! Most have great health scores, so don't be afraid of eating tacos from a truck!

Cori's Dog House.

Gourmet Hot Dogs, Sausages, French Fries – Nashville, Tennessee Restaurant – Cori's DogHouse

The original spot is in Mt. Juliet/Providence and the newer location is off West End near Vandy. Good hot dogs, great buns (the Provence bakery makes them -- they bear a stronger resemblance to lobster rolls or Texas toast than traditional hot dog buns), pretty much every topping you can think of. One hot dog is plenty. The fries are just right, too. Grab water instead of a soda and you're out the door for about six bucks.

I like Chuy's for cheap sit down. We can usually get out of there for $60 including tip and 2 margaritas for 2 adults and 3 kids (hence the need for margaritas).

Pucketts, Meridees, etc downtown Franklin are all around $10/lunches.

Rotier's on Elliston Place (off of West End near the Parthenon) for burgers.

Hot Diggety Dog (off of Lafayette downtown) for great dogs.

Dandgure's Cafeteria (also off of Lafayette) for meat and 3.

The menu at Athens on 8th Ave South is quite reasonably priced, and it's great Greek food. They were featured on the Food Network a year or two ago, which was how we found them.
