Hi, can anyone tell me if the following neighborhoods are in a flood zone or if they were affected by the May 2010 flood. Wynbrooke, Autumn Creek, Creekside at STation Camp or Stonecrest. When I tried to look on a map for flood zones most of them couldn't find the address (possible they are too new of an area). The only one I did find was Wynbrooke and it seems to be a 1% chance of having a flood.... Would appreciate some feedback. On another note..... are they any areas of Hendersonville that would be considered dangerous? If I were to take a random drive around the town to check it out should I be concerned about wandering into a "bad" area. Thanks again.

The major concern for flooding is if the Wolf Creek Dam in KY breaks, the entire area is in a world of trouble. Hendersonville used to have a map showing the US Army Corps of Engineers' projection of what a Wolf Creek collapse would do: way on down their website, but the link seems to be dead now. The May 2010 flood certainly showed what the worst could look like and if the subdivision you're looking at wasn't effected by it then I wouldn't be overly concerned about flooding in general. That said, however, flood insurance is still relatively cheap (seems like it's about $150/year per $200,000 of home) and is worth it if you want to feel more at ease.

I will send you a more detailed direct message too.

I wouldn't consider any part of Hendersonville "dangerous" to drive through from a crime perspective. Not even the most rough of areas. I wouldn't want to live in these areas, of course, but it is not like you're going to be carjacked or assaulted driving through. The roughest areas in my estimation are around Wessington (off New Shackle Island Rd somewhat near the hospital) and some areas of the Walton Ferry/Sanders Ferry peninsula are rough. Again, there is virtually no risk at all driving in these areas. I do it pretty often. But I wouldn't want to settle here.
