Family Wash does look pretty cool. Plus, I always love a situation where someone incorporates old with new. I'm just a spectator from afar in Detroit planning to move to Nashville next spring, but from what I've read this place used to be an old laundry mat and some of those features were creatively utilized in the aesthetics. Here's a link and a picture (not a great one, but gives you an idea - I didn't take the pic, it's from Flickr) Family Wash

Here's what 3 Crow Bar looks like:

And a "place" at 5 points - I guess that doesn't look super scary. Although that Edgefield "eatery" looks a little rough on the right, but I've been to plenty of rough looking places that have awesome food.

And here's Red Door:

Alright, I'll stop showing off now.

Red door looks pretty cool. But that 3 crow does look a bit sketch! Thanks for the pictures!

Ha...3 Crow Bar is not sketch at all...probably one of the best "corner bars" in Nashville...

3 Crow is hilariously non-sketch. It's one of the few places that more thin-skinned people take taxis in and out of East Nashville to go to specifically.

Sketch or not, I'm checking EVERYTHING out when I finally get down there. That's probably all I'll do for the first 6 - 12 months is get the lay of the land and explore, explore, explore. You guys were at 70 today and sunny-ish. We were 59 and gray/misty/rainy. So jealous.

Exactly right...it was an old laundromat. It is a very narrow/small place but I've never had to wait long. Sometimes it is hard to get into if there's a popular local act playing...and every Christmas a jazz trio plays "A Charlie Brown Christmas" from start to finish...that you need reservations for.

It is such a cool and funky place...really probably my favorite place to hang out in Nashville, which is saying a lot. And they know how to pour a proper Guinness. IF you go, you have to try the shepherd's pie your first time. It's the house specialty. After that, the meatloaf is great as are the bangers & mash. Everything is fantastic, actually.

That sounds so awesome - love the sounds of all that. My wife is a humongous fan of the Peanuts as well as anything cool and funky. This just reassures me that there are many cool things to do in Nashville - most of which I won't find out about all that easily by way of internet. Can't wait to move down there with you guys.
