You might want to take a look at Fairview. It's in Williamson County and would be about 35 min. from Brentwood. You will get more home and land for the money and the people are definitely not snooty! Lots of commercial development going on out here. Once I-840 is completed (projected date is 10/11), prices are going to be on the rise. A smart place to invest in real estate!

thanks everyone! sorry it took me so long to get back on here!! Our price range is 250k and under. We want to be in a neighborhood that will allow us to have a swimming pool and most newer neighborhoods will not allow a pool and/or the houses are so close together there is no privacy! I am concerned that franklin area woudl be "snooty" and it seems so very crowded everytime I have been through Cool Springs..which I am thinking we would have to go to Cool Springs every time we wanted to shop or eat.

What does everyone thing about Hendersonville vs Mt. Juliet vs. Franklin area?? I don't really know anything about Franklin since I am from Old HIckory/Hermitage area and haven't spent any time in Franklin.

You might consider Smyrna/Murfreesboro as well. The right location puts you very close to 840 and/or highway 96 which takes you into Williamson County fairly quickly. I can get from my driveway to Cool Springs mall in 30 minutes via 840. You can get more house/land for the money here than in Franklin/Brentwood/Hendersonville and it would likely be comparable to Mt. Juliet. I live in a semi-rural area about 10 minutes away from The Avenue in M'boro and zoned to very good county schools. A house across the street from me sits on close to 1 acre and has 2900 sq/ft and the asking price is $249k.

An alternative you can look at is Bellevue. Access is provided by a 2lane Old Hickory blvd from Tn100 east. The trick is to avoid the Plantation area & the Harpeth river. The Harpeth tends to flood a lot.

There are several apartments near Kroger & the Old Hickory & US70S corner. Many condos also. MTA does have BusRoute 3 on US70S to downtown via West End Harding so you are not cut off from downtown. While the mall is closed, there is plenty of shopping nearby (West Nashville).
