Small world! I used to do the majority of my grocery shopping at Wal-Mart, but I absolutely LOVE the customer service Publix provides. I'm so glad they moved into the area.

I really like Publix and envy you guys for having what sounds like a plethora of them! Course, we make do pretty good up here with the regional KVAT, Ingles and Earth Fare. But still. Publix is nice.

I think someone in another thread posted that Publix was in talks to purchase a chain up there. The economy probably put a hold on that.

Having worked for them for 11 years and saw there expansion through GA I am sure they will make it up there as soon as the economy picks up and/or the infrastructure is in place. Publix only recently opened 2 stores in Chatt.

Also on a side note in a recent Consumer Reports issue, Publix took #3 best supermarkets in the US.
