My husband and I viewed a house in the subdivision on Saturday. We like the house but I am wondering about the area. It seems there are still houses being built. Is it a good area to live? You turn on Joe B Jackson Pkwy from I 24 to get to the road..and Manchester Pike is close. Any comments on the area?

I know the subdivision. There is nothing wrong with that area. I'm sure it will get built up in time, but there isn't too much there now. I looked in there when I first moved here. I would say make sure you look at everything available before picking something. There are so many nice/nicer subdivisions here.

Agreed Kim and I do not recommend the builder of those homes one bit!

Thank you for the responses! I loved the house but just didn't get a good warm fuzzy feeling about the area.

Any suggestions on what area to look? Our area ranges from Smyrna (where DH will be working), to Lascassas area (like the country feel) to Murfreesboro. Our price range is up to $160,000...not alot but still can find houses...just not our home yet. We want at least 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and 1600 square foot though would prefer the 1800 range better. We do have a 2 year old daughter so safety is a must...along with a nice backyard for our 2 dogs.

Your best bet would be to get a realtor who handles Murfreesboro. I know of a great realtor and I know others here highly recommend realtors as well. You can always take a look at www.realtracs.com for more info. You get to plug in your price and the square footage, bedrooms etc... and it pulls up available properties.

I wouldn't either Steve. They didn't seem built well at all. You got a lot of house for the money, but they did seem cheaply built.

You can find that price range on the west side of Murfreesboro. You should get a realtor. They can give you plenty of options in that price range. I don't know Smyrna, so I can't say. Lascassass, most likely will have options in that range as well. Go look around with a realtor. Narrow it down and feel free to ask us about any subdivisions you like.

Thanks! We do have a realtor and she has been helpful but at the same time, might not really know about a certain subdivision. We looked around Walter Hill, Lascassas and Murfreesboro Saturday. We liked the Lascassas type feel but none of the houses. We are going again next Friday to look at some more houses. I just haven't found home yet, KWIM?

And thanks for the advice on the subdivision. Hubby wasn't too happy about it since he loved the house but was glad we found out sooner than later. Thanks again!

You sound like you are more interested in a country feel. I have heard good and bad about Walter Hill. Small town can be less welcoming of strangers. Lascassas has plenty of transplants from what I hear. Christiana might be a thought as well. Like I said, if you are interested in a certain sub, that you visit with a realtor, check back. We will certainly help if we can.

I am thinking Christiana as a possibility as well. I've heard more bad than good about Walter Hill.
