So I'm watching a bio on the RS and I couldn't help but notice some parallels between Syd Barret and Brian Jones. Both started a band only to be overtaken by other members.

To top it off, they were playing a muzak version of The Great Gig in the Sky when they were talking about Jones' impending death. Interesting stuff.

Default Midnight Rambler

I've read some stuff about Brian and those sketchy people "working" at his estate. It's pretty sad none of his friends were there to look out for him.

No Brian in this, but it's a great version of an old classic I just came across tonight.

Did you guys know that it was Brian who introduced Jimi Hendrix at Monterey in '67? This was the very first song and the very first live performance he made after coming back to the U.S. This is when Jimi Hendrix became "Jimi Hendrix".
