Dokken's last song before their breakup in 1989. "Walk Away".
I remember when Don was interviewed after the break-up, right around when his solo album Up From The Ashes (which is awesome) was released. The interviewer asked if all the guys hated each other and never wanted to work with each other again. Don actually said "No...the song isn't called 'Run Away'!"
Of course, now that we know so much more about the band inter-drama (which rivals Van Halen's), maybe the title should have been "Ran Away"...
Some funny tidbits:
*George Lynch talked Warren DeMartini out of leaving Dokken so he could rejoin, because only he "knew how to handle Don..."
*(Drummer) Mick Brown slept with (bassist) Jeff Pilson's then-wife.
*Don played guitar in the band's early side, but stopped because (he said) George wanted to be the only guy onstage with a guitar. Don resumed playing guitar live on his first solo tour.
How's this for "Have I ever heard that? Maybe once..." Autograph, "Blondes in Black Cars", from their second album.
Notable: Drummer Keni Richards, the band member in the "Turn Up the Radio" video who triggers an alarm at the beginning because he signs his name with an "X" ("Sign in, please") was a friend of David Lee Roth, instrumental in getting the band noticed and later opening for VH.
Goin' to the Dokken well again, never-seen "The Hunter" from Under Lock and Key, 1985.
Killer song. One of the band's best.
