Okay, but just one more thing. "Opposite" is a strong word... And I guess I'm more like Sheryl Lee Ralph on the previous page where I can forgive and set things in the past. Unless of course, someone has done something really horrendous such as murder their ex-wife and her boyfriend and then lie about it.
But you're right about Al Jarreau's music from the 80s.
While I know Roy Ayers songs, I know hardly anything about him as a person. He has been influential, but never really a star that got a lot of attention. So, weird in terms of music or personality?

From what I can recall, it was weird in music. Although, sometimes that can reflect personality.
And I think that it was one of his later songs, like in the 90s or early 2000s compared to his earlier songs. Also, I tried looking up his later albums at allmusic.com, but coudn't seem to find anything 'unusual,' but perhaps I was mistaken.
Although, I would have to say that the shock-value and the eyebrow-raising aspect of things is greater with an artist that you don't expect to play a certain kind of music. Just like I was kind of surprised back in the mid 80s when Ray Parker, Jr came out with I'm a Dog when I was used to him coming out with cutesy R&B/Pop songs such as Jack and Jill and You Can't Change That.
I already knew that Jack and Jill tune, but never knew it was Ray Parker Jr. His voice sounds different, or maybe someone else was singing...
The synth reminds me of early Stevie Wonder stuff.
I'm a dog is indeed a bit trashy compared to those old tunes...
