"GREATEST SONG ever written"

Bob Dylan - 'Masters of War'
Certainly the greatest protest song ever. This song was released on his second album, three days after his 22nd birthday and just seven months after the Cuban missile crisis ended. Undoubtedly the closest we ever came to blowing up the whole enchilada.

in part...

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
That even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

and later...

And I hope that you die
And your death will come soon
I'll follow your casket
On a pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand over your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

not too bad for a self-described "song and dance man"

One song -- oh my goodness. Not fair. Not just a song I like a lot, but a song that may speak universally.

If I have to, I guess it might be this:

Willie Nelson
Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain. Captures a moment and an emotion like no other.

But then...

Damn rules.
