I remember the first time I ever heard that song. I knew it wasn't Neil, but it did remind me of him.

I have a bunch of all time faves, but one song I never, ever get tired of:

Splendid Isolation by Warren Zevon

Well you can't go wrong with:

Default Strange as it may seem.

This song has always gotten to me from the first time I heard it. I don't know what it is, I just absolutely love it.

The song is, of course, Pearl Jam's "Black"

YouTube - Pearl Jam - Black (With Lyrics)

If you have never heard it please, check it out. They are a rock band, but this song has the kind of heart that bypasses all musical boundaries. I promise, 9 out of 10 of you will like this song.

I accidentally deleted my list of everyone's songs--including my own--and am retrieving them again. Does anyone happen to remember the 3rd song I listed? One was by John Lennon, one was by Pink Floyd and I forgot the last. You can send it to me privately if you like. Thank you. And thanks for all the contributions. Again, this isn't a favorites list. I know it's a fine line but the difference is what I'm basing my playlist on.

I'm putting it to a vote on my music page to see if anyone agrees with any listed. Remember, if you have more, send them to me here. I need a huge list but remember, it's not about favorite songs--it's what you think are the greatest songs ever. Some of my choices are not my favorite songs. This should broaden your choices a bit. Thanks again for contributing everyone. When I'm done, it will be on imeem on my page. I'm Licks~ over there.

I've got a good list going and listeners can contribute the rest. It should be an interesting playlist (The Greatest Song Ever Written). Since this is basically a rock music profile I've pretty much stuck to that but thank you everyone for your contributions.

You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To, by Cole Porter.

It's such a simple poem... I like the quieter versions, not the jazzy ones. The Palmer-Lavin Duo's version is my favorite musical arrangement of it, but I dont like their vocal.

Diane Keaton's amateurish version in Radio Days comes pretty close:
