We went from this...

YouTube - Ol' Dirty Bastard - Shimmy Shimmy Ya

YouTube - Wu-Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck

To this...

YouTube - Dem Franchize Boyz - Lean wit it Rock wit it

YouTube - D4L - Laffy Taffy

Will hip hop ever make a comeback? What city is going to bring it back?

Honestly, I'm thinking Chicago will bring it back. Common and Lupe are going to get Chicago going...

It hasnt went anywhere bruh there are different styles of hip hop and right now the south is running things the problem with the northern rappers is they are in competetion with each other with all the violence etc. Southern rappers stick together and try to help each other come up in the music industry. And if you going to single out why wouldnt you put T.I and Outkast and Ludacris Rick Ross Lil wayne they all are true hip hop rappers because you know they are true hip hop rappers that are from the south that are doing well right now and they have substance in there lyrics. So dont say hip hop is dead because of a few artist

TI's a joke. The jerkoff has 2 identities... What is he some kind of psycho? It's just weird how he battles himself.

Rick Ross is a joke. In one of his songs he said he was the Biggie of his city. There's no rapper that can be compared to BIG. BIG is BIG. I think Rick Ross' cockiness originates from his insecurities.

Outkast? They're good, but they're no Wu-Tang, Run DMC, etc.

Ludacris? Dude he's just a freak... He's strange. I think he's TRYING to compete with Ol' Dirty... But he'll never be competition to Ol' Dirty. Ol' Dirty's dead and he's still a better rapper than half these live ones today.

Lil' Wayne is okay, he's not that good. Let's just say he's one of the only rappers from the south who can spit a good rhyme here and there.

Lil Wayne was good with the Carter I and II. Carter III is mostly garbage outside of the production.

Low blow with that. I agree that Chi-Town got next. You should've added these gritty street anthems:

YouTube- Young B-Chicken Noodle Soup It's straight gutta son!

YouTube-50 Cent-Candy Shop Make you want to commit a homicide (to self).

You're giving ATL too much clout in the game if you're believing that. What's the deal with NY? I think Chi-Town and Philly could take off (maybe I'm paying 2 much attention to them).

What? 50 Cent is from New York. He's from the same borough that I was born in... Queens.

True. When I first heard that Chicken Noodle Soup song, I thought it was another Atlanta artist. Luckily, NY's good far outweighs its garbage (Young B, MIMS, etc.). Joe Budden alone cancels out all that garbage:

T.I. vs T.I.P. is just his business side vs his street/hood side. T.I. is actually one of THE truest in the game. Cassidy does the same thing with the Hustla vs The Problem.
Rick Ross is a joke. In one of his songs he said he was the Biggie of his city. There's no rapper that can be compared to BIG. BIG is BIG. I think Rick Ross' cockiness originates from his insecurities. True, he's fake. He's involved in law enforcement and in his raps he's talks about how much "dirt" he's done,

Outkast? They're good, but they're no Wu-Tang, Run DMC, etc.
They're all legends. Wu-Tang in some minds can't stand to Run DMC but Outkast are legendary.
Ludacris? Dude he's just a freak... He's strange. I think he's TRYING to compete with Ol' Dirty... But he'll never be competition to Ol' Dirty. Ol' Dirty's dead and he's still a better rapper than half these live ones today.
How's he strange? He's the best in the Dirty and...he's one of the most creative rapper out. Busta's actually strange (check his early videos).
Lil' Wayne is okay, he's not that good. Let's just say he's one of the only rappers from the south who can spit a good rhyme here and there.
Wayne has some skills but drugs are doing him in. He can't freestyle.
