"Jump" by Kris Kross
"O.P.P." by Naughty by Nature
"Slam" by Onyx

Kid n' Play, Coolio, Public Enemy.... ah yes, so many memories

Personally, I think the coming of Gangsta rap killed hip-hop. Before Gansta, rap music was much more raw, complex, and talented. Of course "The Chronic" is a classic, but I didn't really much care for any hip-hop after about 1994/95.

Kid n' Play lol I loved House Party. I hate that by the time I became a teenager parties like that didn't happen anymore because somebody always to start shooting or the cops break it up before it can really get going I should have been born earlier.

For me I think it was Mary J Blige with Real Love. I loved that video and that song. I think every girl in my high school was rocking baseball hats and jerseys with the black boots. I remember trying to get my ponytail like hers and I left it in the microwave too long and it exploded - my dad was pissed.

Snoop/Dre/Death Row

B.I.G./Tupac

Wu-Tang Clan

Jay-Z vs. Nas

And most importantly: all of the best "underground" stuff: The Roots, Mos Def/Talib Kweli, People Under the Stairs, Definitive Jux records, DJ Shadow and Quannum, all the turntablists, and so on...

Does anyone remember the first time they saw Missy Elliot in The Rain (Supa **** Fly) At first I was like “wtf” but after a while it grew on me. No matter how much I claimed I hated it, I always looked at it because it was so different.

After that I fell in love with Hype Williams. He and Missy are a killer combination. I think he's done most of my favorite videos.

I remember watching the half on a baby video where R Kelly was walking up the stairs and his close just started blowing away until he was in his boxers. You know what affect that has on a teenage girl with a R Kelly obsession and an overactive imagination?
